THE ONE IN WHICH THERE ARE DELAYS

( Edgeworth is no stranger to flight delays, considering the frequency with which he travels. Therefore, it is frustrating but unsurprising when he finds himself stuck in the terminal, listlessly browsing the shelves of a bookstore just to pass the time. At least no-one's been murdered, as far as he's aware.

He's all caught up on his work for once and has nothing to do and no-one to talk to...

... until he sees a familiar face out of the corner of his eye.

His mentor's daughter, almost vibrating with her trademark barely-repressed anger. Despite her propensity towards violence, Edgeworth's spirits are nonetheless brightened by the sight of her. With more of a spring in his step than the situation truly entails, he approaches Franziska with a trace of a smirk on his face. )

Franziska von Karma.

( It can be fun to tease her mannerisms sometimes. Certainly, it will probably get him whipped, but that's not anything he can't handle. )

[Some people power their bicycle lamps with their pedaling, but Franziska could do it with the force of her rage. She, too, is an old hand at dealing with flight delays. But unlike her little brother, she does not have the patience to be so philosophical about it. Why be patient with such fools?

She rounds on her heel when she hears his voice. She hadn't realized they were leaving from the same terminal.]

Miles Edgeworth. Why are you looking so pleased with yourself?

[her hand curls around the handle of her whip. should't the TSA have confiscated something like that, even from an Interpol agent? probably. if they want to get whipped.]

There is nothing to be pleased about in an airport.

Hmph. I would have avoided it if I had known. I have no time for idle chatter.

[And honestly? She really would have picked a different flight.

But she's also pleased to see him too, nonetheless. Not that she'd admit to it.]

I was supposed to be on my way to Borginia by now. There are some elements of a certain case that have yet to be dealt with properly. [She glares at the glass wall of the terminal and pulls on her whip, as though she might attack the clouds themselves.] If these foolish fools had properly accounted for the weather...!

Scruffy decided to put the bag with my laptop in with the checked baggage.

[Which leaves her for precious few diversions. She runs her eye over a nearby shelf of books, tiny thick paperbacks with covers depicting fire, or city skylines, or incredibly airbrushed people giving alluring glances over their shoulder.

She's passed them before, of course, but she's always arranged her schedule so Perfectly until now that she's never had reason to need to buy a new book in an airport. Now she's noticing other details of their placement.]

Why do they keep these books next to the junk food? That is a completely unacceptable arrangement!
