THE ONE IN WHICH THERE IS A CABIN IN THE MOUNTAINS

Eagle Mountain.

Ever since the way his debut trial had ended, there was something in the air that constantly compelled him to return to the area. It wasn't just the bitter chill, which was nonetheless refreshing. It was the lure of a mystery, an unsolved case, an itch at the back of his mind that he could not scratch.

The truth of the matter is, Miles Edgeworth is no idiot. And even though he should be satisfied that another murderer was off the streets, as his mentor was so fond of reminding him, the events towards the end of that fateful day left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Edgeworth's only regret should be that he did not get Fawles his guilty verdict sooner. And yet, there are so many doubts that plague his mind.

His most recent search of the area had uncovered no new leads, and his investigation ended in much the same vein as those prior, with Edgeworth standing on the Dusky Bridge, hands gripping the rope of the railing, staring deep into the depths of the river wondering what it would take to jump in the water below.

To jump and leave one's old life behind, just like Mia Fey alleged that Dahlia Hawthorne had done.
